Mildred "Millie" Irene (Dempsey) Silva

Mildred Irene (Dempsey) Silva, age 96, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021 in Nashua, NH with her son Fred Silva by her side. Mildred, or “Millie” as she was affectionately known, was born in Lowell, MA on January 12, 1925.

Millie was predeceased by her husband Frederick Silva, who passed away in 1970. She was also predeceased by her best friend Fred Rowbatham, with whom she enjoyed seventeen wonderful years at their home in Chelmsford and summer home in Ossipee, NH where Millie enjoyed reading and gardening flowers.

Best known to her family as Mom, Nana, and Great Nana, Millie’s pride and joy was time spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her children, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren. Millie is survived by her son Fred Silva, and daughter Rebecca “Becky” Valcourt and her husband Dennis. She is also survived by granddaughter Lisa Aho and her husband Josh, as well as granddaughter Heather Picariello. She was the proud great-grandmother to Arianna and Anthony Picariello. Millie also leaves behind her beloved companion and “kitty”, Sweetie.

At Millie’s request there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Lowell on April 12, 2021.
