Paul DeRosa Vieira

Paul DeRosa Vieira, age 68, of Pepperell, died of glioblastoma on Saturday, July 30, 2022. He is remembered for his unwavering love for his family and generosity towards his community. Paul was born on November 10, 1953 in Winthrop, the third son of John R. and Adeline A. (Fallavollita) Vieira. He grew up in Winthrop and later Acton, graduating from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in 1971. Paul was a skilled Master Plumber for over 35 years and the proud proprietor of Vieira Plumbing. He was involved for many years in the Community Church of Pepperell as co-chair of the Stewardship Commission and as a Sunday School teacher.

Paul was an eternal optimist and lived by his motto to “always look on the bright side of life.” He was an avid sailor, spending time throughout his life sailing Boston and Salem Harbors, and Buzzards Bay. A man of many hobbies and talents, he also spent years deer hunting with family and friends, downhill skiing in the Northeast and Canada, and was an accomplished home builder. Paul had a generous heart and would do anything for those he loved. He put family above all else and was the first to lend support to a friend in need. His goal was to make the world a better place. In addition to his time in the Community Church of Pepperell, Paul served his community as a youth soccer coach and ski program chaperone, and held leadership positions on the Rose Point Improvement Association in West Wareham where he had a second home overlooking the Sippican River.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon A. Vieira; children Lucas R. Vieira and wife Jamie, Charlotte-Rose R. Vieira and husband Daniel Resnicow, Christopher D. Wetherell and wife Sarah, Nicole E. Yardy and husband Nicholas; grandchildren Micah E. Resnicow and Adeline K. Vieira; brother Robert D. Vieira and wife Patricia Kenneally; sister Angela M. Craggy and husband John; nephews Thomas Vieira, Ethan and Emmett Craggy, Nicholas and Benjamin Robertson; and a large circle of extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his brother John D. Vieira and his parents.

A service in his honor will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 2pm at the Community Church of Pepperell, 3 Townsend Street, Pepperell, MA. Face masks are encouraged by the family.
