Robert R. Hardy Sr.

Pepperell MA -- Robert R. Hardy Sr., 78, of 17 High St., died Thursday April 23, in Leominster Hospital after several years battling Luwy Body Dementia and complications of COVID-19.

He was born on April 13, 1942, at the Crocker Hospital in Pepperell MA., the son of the late John F Hardy Sr. and Mae Emma (Salafia) Conklin. Bob lived in Pepperell most of his life.

He was employed for many years as at Hollingsworth and Vose (H&V) in Groton, MA before he started his own construction company.  Robert continued to work at H&V while he established his business. Bob had many businesses and if you couldn’t find him in his garage working, he could be found on a job site. Bob’s idea of a vacation was working around the yard or waxing some vehicles.

Bob loved spending time at family gatherings with his grandchildren. He could always be counted on to attend their events; sports games, award ceremonies, birthday and graduation parties any reason to be with the kids he was there. He loved to dance and play pranks on anyone that left themselves exposed.

Mr. Hardy leaves two sons, Robert R. Hardy Jr. and his wife Renee of Mechanicsburg PA, James Hardy and his wife Jennifer of Pepperell MA., three daughters, Kathleen Hardy of Salem NH, Maryanne Hardy of Gardner MA, and Patricia Hardy of Northfield NH; four brothers, John Hardy and Stephen Hardy, both of Pepperell;  Hollis H. Conklin Jr. of Clinton, Anthony Conklin of Lancaster, three sisters, Pamela Lund of Pepperell, Melvina Hutchins of Leominster and Anita Bezdegian of Paxton, 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A brother Joseph Hardy predeceased him. He also leaves behind many friends and anyone that needed a hand.
