Robert “Bob” Kinch, of Pepperell died May 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.

Bob was born July 13, 1940, the son of the late Leo Kinch and Helen (MacNeil) Kinch. He grew up in Medford, Massachusetts and graduated from Medford High School. Shortly after graduating, he entered the United States Air Force where he served as an Airman. Through the years, Bob worked as a salesman for Andrews Gunite Pools and McCulloch Chain Saws and then found his niche working in the food service. He was the director of food services for the Maynard School System until his retirement at age 75.

Bob served the community by coaching ice hockey for the cities of Medford and Woburn and later coached women’s ice hockey. He organized the first women’s hockey team to represent the United States and competed in multiple countries in Europe during the 1980s. He was also a great supporter of the arts and organized many fundraisers for North Middlesex High School theater department.

One of Bob’s greatest loves was for Prince Edward Island where both of his parents were born and raised. He spent most of his summers as a child and would visit every summer that he possibly could as an adult. Whenever talking about “the island”, he would always have a big smile on his face. He also enjoyed NASCAR and stock car racing.

Bob is survived by his six children William K. Kinch of Lowell, Laura G. Matthews of Nashua, Philip L. Kinch of Pepperell, Jaclyn F. Quigley of Ashby, Allyson M. Kinch of Pepperell, and Robert Duprey of Falmouth. He is also survived by his sister Bonita Bradford of Burlington, MA. Bob was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In accordance with Bob's wishes, services will be private.
