Roberta Janet Putnam, 89, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 23, 2022. She was born December 9, 1932 in Pinelawn, Missouri. Janet (affectionately called Jan) lived her final 46 years in Pepperell. She is survived by her beloved husband for 69 years, Billy Gene Putnam, her two daughters Gaylin and Lori, her younger sister Lenore, her grandson Joel, grandson David and his wife Rachael with their four children Genevieve, Ezra, Josephine, and  Rebekah, her grandson Seth, and grandson Jared with his two children  Eli, and Miles. She was predeceased by her older sister, Joan.

Janet was an exquisite homemaker. She made every home the family lived in a place of beauty, serenity and warmth. She was known for her beautiful operatic singing voice, her impeccable style, and her immense creativity. She was extremely artistic and had taken 1st place 2 years in a row in a national embroidery competition and exhibit. She owned, bred, and showed Rottweilers for 10 years and operated a successful antiques business. Janet was known for her exceptional generosity, opening up their home to missionaries on several occasions who needed a place to live on furlough from the mission field. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the time she was 10 years old. She was an amazing model as a mother, wife, and grandmother. The loving relationship she and her husband shared was an inspiration and testimony to all who knew them.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 28 from 4-7pm at the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main Street (Rte. 113) Pepperell, Mass. She will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
