Toshie (Okura) Kelly

GROTON – Mrs. Toshie (Okura) Kelly, 91, passed away on June 10th, 2022 in Merrimack Community Hospice House after a prolonged illness. She was the wife of the late Mr. Edward J. Kelly.

Born in Japan, on October 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Kurakichi Okura and Dai Konodo. She is predeceased by sister Sakae Yanagida and brothers Utaka and Minoru Okura.

She served the community as a dedicated nurse for 40 years at local hospitals in Groton and Ayer. Toshie loved sharing a meal with good company, traveling, gardening, caring for animals and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carol A. Bigda and her husband Ken of NC, Robert L. Kelly and his wife Sharon of Nashua, NH, Mary J. Perrin and her husband George of Shirley, MA, Joseph J Kelly and his wife Beth of Ayer, MA, and John F. Kelly and his wife Jean of Hillsboro, NH. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Chrissy, Maggie, David, Samantha, Michael, Patrick, Becky and Justin as well as great-grandchildren Sarah, Jacob, Angelina, Christopher, Anabella, Antonio, Joseph, Isabelle and Riley.

Visiting hours will be held  Mon. June 20th from 4-7 PM at St. Benedict’s Abbey, 252 Still River Rd, Still River, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held Tues. June 21st at 11 AM at St. Benedict’s Abbey. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Benedict Abbey, P.O. Box 67, Still River, MA 01467 ( www.abbey.org ).
